Christmas 2014
Tuesday 23rd to Saturday 27th December 2014

Where better to celebrate Christmas in style than at the elegant family-run AA four-star Langham Hotel on Eastbourne sea front, with magnificent views across the bay. Enjoy award-winning food from our Head Chef, Michael Titherington, all prepared with produce from local suppliers, including a traditional Christmas dinner. And, if you’ve been good, there’s even a visit from Father Christmas. A full programme of entertainment has been arranged to make this festive season truly memorable, with live music, a trip to the pantomime, blockbuster movies, and even the chance to win a prize at our ‘just for fun’ casino. We look forward to giving you a very merry Christmas.

Tuesday 23rd December
Arrive any time after 2.00pm, or just let us know if you would like to arrive earlier, and we will be waiting to greet you. Once you have settled into your room, you are welcome to come down to the lounge for tea and mince pies – or enjoy an Oscar-winning movie in the Sovereign Suite with refreshments provided. If you still need to do some last minute Christmas shopping, there are nearby local shops, and the main town centre is only 15 minutes walk away.

In the evening, visit the Langham Bar before dinner to meet your fellow guests over cocktails to really get you in the Christmas spirit. Then enjoy a three course dinner at the Langham’s AA Rosette restaurant, where carol singers will herald the start of your Christmas holiday.

After dinner there will be live music and entertainment plus a ‘fun money’ casino and a prize of a bottle of champagne for the highest roller!

Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24th December)

After breakfast, why not explore the town of Eastbourne, or have a leisurely stroll along the spectacular sea front. We will have an early pre-theatre light lunch waiting for you at the Langham, before we take you to the beautiful Devonshire Park Theatre for this year’s pantomime, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ - or you may decide to stay at the hotel and watch a film in the Sovereign Suite with a packet of popcorn.

In the evening, dinner will be served in the Langham Restaurant, followed by a game of Bingo and live music in the Party Room.

From 10.35pm, taxis will take those who wish to attend Midnight Mass to a church of their choice.

Christmas Day (Thursday 25th December)
Christmas Day starts with a hearty breakfast and a glass of Buck’s Fizz, before a stroll along the sea front to the Bandstand. There you can listen to the Silver Band playing all your Christmas favourites, and even join in with the crowds dancing to the tunes.

Return to the Langham for a traditional Christmas Lunch at midday, with live music, and – if you’re good – a visit from Santa Claus. Then watch the Queen’s Speech on TV at 3 o’clock, followed by a relaxing afternoon, with maybe a quick game of Bingo and a Christmas Quiz, before settling down to a blockbuster movie with a cup of tea and a slice of Christmas cake. In the evening there will be a light supper, and live entertainment.

Boxing Day (Friday 26th December)
Start the day with a leisurely breakfast, followed by a gentle walk along the promenade to see Eastbourne’s Dance Band playing Big Band favourites at the sea front Bandstand.  After a light lunch have a restful afternoon at the Langham with a game of Bingo, watch a film in the Sovereign Suite or play Scrabble in the Games Room.

In the evening, enjoy a Gala Boxing Day Dinner, followed by live music and entertainment in the Bar and the Party Room.

Prize winners will be announced for the Christmas competitions that have been held during your stay - ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake’ (made by Head Chef Michael Titherington), ‘Name the Dog’ and ‘Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar’.

Saturday 27th December
After breakfast we wish you a fond farewell, a Happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you back at the Langham very soon for one of our other packages. Or why not extend your stay until Sunday?  Enjoy another superb dinner in the Langham Restaurant, followed by live entertainment, and make your Christmas celebration last even longer.
