Christmas Programme 2011
Friday 23rd December
Arrive any time after 2.00pm, or let us know if you would like to arrive earlier and we will be waiting to greet you. Once you have settled into your room, you are welcome to come down to the lounge for tea and mince pies - or enjoy a movie in our Party Room, where we'll even provide you with ice cream and popcorn to complete your cinematic experience. If you still need to do some last minute Christmas shopping, there are nearby local shops, and the main town centre is only 15 minutes walk away.
In the evening, visit the Langham Bar before dinner to meet your fellow guests over cocktails to really get you in the Christmas spirit. Then enjoy a three course dinner at the Langham's AA Rosette restaurant, where carol singers will herald the start of your Christmas holiday.
After dinner there will be live music and entertainment plus a 'fun money' casino and a prize of a bottle of champagne for the highest roller!
Christmas Eve (Saturday 24th December)
After breakfast, why not explore the town of Eastbourne, or have a leisurely stroll along the spectacular sea front. We will have an early pre-threatre Ploughman's Lunch waiting for you at the Langham, before transporting you to the beautiful Devonshire Park Theatre for this year's pantomime 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' - or you may decide to stay at the hotel and watch a film with a packet of popcorn.
In the evening, dinner will be served in the Langham Restaurant, followed by a game of Bingo in the Bar, or live music in the Party Room. From 10.35pm, taxis will take those who wish to attend Midnight Mass to a church of their choice.
Christmas Day (Sunday 25th December)
Wake up a join revellers for a glass of mulled wine and an early Christmas swim in the sea opposite the hotel to help raise funds for St. Wilfrid's Hospice, or simply watch others take the plunge! This will set you up for a hearty breakfast, with a glass of Buck's Fizz, before a stroll along the sea front to the Bandstand. There you can listen to the Silver Band playing all your Christmas favourites, and even join in with the crowds dancing to the tunes.
Return to the Langham for a traditional Christmas Lunch at midday, with live music, and - if you're good - a visit from Santa Claus. Then listen to the Queen's Speech at 3 o'clock, followed by a relaxing afternoon with maybe a quick game of Bingo, before settling down to a blockbuster movie with a cup of tea and a slice of Christmas cake. In the evening there will be a light supper and live entertainment.
Boxing Day (Monday 26th December)
Start the day with a leisurely breakfast, followed by a gentle walk along the promenade to see Eastbourne's Dance Band playing Big Band favourites at the seafront Bandstand. A light lunch will put you in the mood for the Tea Dance at the town's Winter Gardens, or have a restful afternoon at the Langham with a game of Bingo or a film in the Party Room.
Tuesday 27th December
After breakfast we wish you a fond farewell, a Happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you back at the Langham very soon for one of our other packages. Or why not extend your stay until Wednesday? Enjoy another superb dinner in the Langham Restaurnat, followed by live entertainment, and make your Christmas celebration last even longer.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2012.
